Gildas Surry is a bank analyst with 23 years of coverage of the European banking sector, bringing a combination of sell-side analyst and buy-side investor. He spent 14 years on the sell-side, at Merrill Lynch, Citi, BNP Paribas, and since June 2024 at Credit Agricole CIB providing in-depth sector research, valuations, and capital structure analysis to institutional investors, with a 9-year stint on the buy side in a dual portfolio manager / analyst role between 2015 and 2024. Throughout his career, Gildas has focused on investment-driven analysis of bank balance sheets, advising on fundamentals, capital structure and bank-originated instruments such as senior, subordinated and AT1 instruments, alongside loans, ABS, Covered Bonds, CLOs and SRTs.
