PGGM manages a dedicated mandate, on behalf of PFZW, the pension fund for the Dutch health care sector, to invest in on-balance-sheet synthetic securitisation/SRT, which PGGM refers to as Credit Risk Sharing (CRS). PGGM has invested in CRS transactions since 2006 and currently has a portfolio of around €7 billion over more than 40 transactions. Barend van Drooge joined PGGM in 2013, has invested in Credit Risk Sharing since 2014 and was appointed as head of the team in 2025. Barend has extensive investment experience and is recognized as a thought leader and a regular speaker at industry conferences and roundtables, particularly on investment standards and regulatory advocacy. Barend has academic master’s degrees in finance and law, is a CFA Charterholder and previously worked as a lawyer in Singapore.
